Help with RiMo

RiMo Alarm. Common questions.

How does RiMo choose the alarm time?

RiMo compares air quality, the chance of rain and, optionally, estimated road wetness with your settings. If conditions meet them, the early time applies; otherwise, the later one does. The decision may change as updated data arrives.

What should I check if the alarm didn’t ring?

Check notification permissions and, on iOS 26 or later, alarm permissions. Enable Background App Refresh and check in RiMo under “Weckmechanismus” (alarm mechanism) that the alarm is registered with the system. On older iOS versions, notification-based alarms are subject to the platform’s limitations.

Can I override the decision?

Yes. You can manually choose the early or late time for the next morning. Automatic selection resumes after that.

Do I have to share my location?

No. You can choose a place manually. Its coordinates are sent to the relevant data services to retrieve weather and air data. Details are in the RiMo privacy policy.

Why do air quality values differ from other apps?

The default source, Open-Meteo, provides model data rather than a direct measurement at your location. You can optionally use WAQI or OpenAQ with your own access. The source, monitoring station and distance help put the values in context.
